I found this article on Yoast stating Social Media can help increase SEO rankings indirectly. But What if your client say "We dont have social media strategy now so spending much time on social is waste of time to us now, We are aiming for #1 on Google only thats our main goal" When you build your SEO strategy Do you include anything within Social Media or do you ask your client to do anything with it? thanks.

You can't force a client to do what they don't want to do and you shouldn't waste time trying to convince them to do something they won't put their hearts into. You make a proposal and let them decide. Social media is not a necessary channel. Many sites get along just fine without it. If you feel strongly a site would benefit from social media then help them create content that is worth sharing and easy to share.

The starting point is to see what a site needs. It never needs social - it needs what social can deliver. So work out what social can deliver that the site needs and find other ways to deliver that - for example you could use other peoples social media, video, different places to share content etc.

We do not fully know until after this next update. We know that Google and Facebook do not per se like each other. So I doubt it will be a big factor. But, I am seeing Hashtags seem to help.

The worst (SEO) strategy is to only rely on organic Google traffic. The more diverse and not dependent on Google organic a website is, the better it often performs in SEO (just correlation or causation? The opinions differ on this one )

I built up my social following because unfortunately some business owners value # of FB/IG likes over web traffic when deciding to run a banner ad with me. Yes. Folks still buy banner ads lol.

Social media strategy is not useful for every business. Valuable for some more than others.

This. A local restaurant will benefit from social tremendously, while a steel manufacturer will waste money and time on it.

@demoss176 Yeah, 100%. Facebook advertising can be good for a restaurant.
