Hello friends, am a bit confused on how to get indexed/ranked in Google. My questions are Should I focus on link building? since I already have 16 published articles or should I just focus on creating more articles? . I have read some articles online but I couldn't get the preferred answer. . Some are saying 50-70 articles can get you indexed while some are saying link building is the *ONLY* way Is it true that is the only way? (Link building) . Pls help me out with answers

You need links. The way google indexes aside from browser info is they crawl other websites and when their bot finds its way to your website through a link it indexes your page (assuming the quality is good enough to not skip it). The more links you have the quicker/easier they find you. These links also help out in many many other ways. There are other ways to get index, however if you don't have enough links to get indexed in the first place your ranks are not going to be very good.

I definitely would. Or you can do both at the same time. SEO is about the entire puzzle not 1 or the other. Also ask yourself are these articles actually needed to provide a full experience for the user coming to your site or are you adding them just for SEO purposes?

Is your site new? If yes, could be you're still in Google sandbox. You can submit the links manually. To do that: On your search console, use the 'check link' feature. Copy and paste the link you want Google to crawl and index. Submit the link. If it is already crawled and index, you will be notified. Or prompted to submit the link for crawling. It takes about 24hours for Googlebots to crawl and index those pages.

You don't need links to be indexed. It's taking longer for many sites than it used to. If you're trying to compete for queries with link-rich sites then you do need links. The easiest links to get are the the links you give yourself. Ensure that you're not using "noindex" and "nofollow" on your own pages and links.
