Making my first attempt at doing smart 3 way switches. I have the leviton smart switch and remote switch. I am finding that my the 3 and 4 way switches in my house do not have a neutral, which I need for the smart switches. Has anyone run into this? Can I just jump my ground to neutral to make it work?

Are you sure there isnt a neutral in the box. Usually just wire nutted together in the back of the box.

@kliman2041 yes I'm sure I metered it out. The electrician used the neutral wire as a Traveller. But I jumped ground to neutral and it worked

Inovelli has a switches that works without neutral and you inly need to replace one on the switches in a 3 way setup.

If anyone is wondering, I grew impatient and just did it, it works. You can jump ground to neutral

The only thing to keep in mind is code. Here in Ohio it would be against code to jump that ground over to the neutral.

Innovelli's switches may work, but you will need to replace the other switch with an add on switch as well if you don't have a neutral. As an alternative, you may be able to put a micro switch at the light fixture instead, assuming that is where the power comes in.
