Bought a tplink 1750 router middle of last year and have started noticing that the TVs or cells phones or alexas will lose internet connection(internet not WiFi) all while some devices still have WiFi. average 15 wireless clients the tp link was running 2. 4 and 5ghz. it started happening more often with even less clients so I finally swapped to my 6 year old linksys 1200 and haven’t had a problem yet. do you think my router is going out? I was afraid I had to many wireless devices but now I’m starting to doubt that since the linksys appears to be working fine

Try another router or AP. If the same thing happens, call your ISP.

You don't mention if you have the latest firmware installed on your router. Also do you have guest mode enabled? 15 clients is not very many. I have 47 devices running off my current router including 5 phones, 9 tablets, 7 google home devices, 2 chromecast and 2 tvs and a bunch of other random stuff. Have you verified that your network isn't running into congestion on the 2. 4 GHz band? Use a Wifi analyzer app on your phone (there are multiple that can show you if there are better channels to select or if there are other Wifi networks interfering with yours. I had to turn off guest mode and change to a clear channel for Wifi. Once that was done no more dropping. Guest mode usually broadcasts on the same channel as you are using. And since Wifi needs the channel to go quiet before transmission can begin if you have guest mode enabled it can be a challenge for the router.

Had something like that where the devices would change from one band to another to minimize use. Cant remember if it was a router setting or the devices. Are the devices set up with both networks and their passwords? If so, try using a different password between the 2. 4 and 5 G so they wont switch back and forth

@microtome I think mine started that way but had the option to split them. I have 2x 5G and 1x 2. 4 now.
