Got around to adding a smart switch today for my over the sink light. So I could add to motion routine and have it turn on with the others. I bought the house about 5 years ago and guy taking me around before closing to show me which switches control what and mentions this 2 gang switch that one side doesnt control anything? Never paid much attention. Go down to the basement to turn off breakers and all are marked kitchen but 3 trips down there to get the sink light breaker right to turn it off. Turns out I recall him saying they had the garbage disposal switch moved to left side of the sink for some reason. So naturally the label on the panel turns out to say disposal. Duh. Good thing I have a good memory but sorry it didnt kick in on the first or second trip. Lol Take apart and the right hand dead switch has no wires connected to it. I gather it was the disposal at one time. Fun with electricity. And why you should never assume. But my routine works great with the new switch.
