I am in the process of adding Zooz smart switches (ZEN 26/27/30) to most of our light circuits, bathfans, and some lesser used ceiling fans. I've already purchased all of the switches. The ZEN27 has a lower load rating than their other switches. I have one double gang switch box where this is a problem. I am trying to put 2 ZEN27s in the box. In order for them to fit, it seems I may need remove the inner heatsinks tabs. I need all of the heatsinks tabs on one of the switches to meet the load it will have. 72w LED. Zooz's limit with half the tabs off is 70w. I may be able to make it work if I bend the tabs back but not break them off. I may also be able to install without touching the tabs on one switch if dremel a bit more of the heat sink on the other switch. Has anyone approached making 2 smart switches fit in a double gang box without removing the tabs? I should mention the light switches will have metal switch plates which should help with the heat dissipation too.
