Yes. I just want a power shut off for water pump and hot water heater in cases of no use, but also emergency shut off

I guess what I’m asking is the WH is still controlled by a t-stat you’re just putting the switch in series with it right? You don’t want to control anything critical wirelessly

Yes. Water heater is controlled by thermostat. Just shutting off power when nobody is using the house.

Unless you like significantly increasing your chances of getting Legionella disease, you shouldn't let the temperature of your hot water frequently drop below 120 degrees F if it's stagnant.
