Depends more on your budget to be honest. There are some amazing zoom cameras on the market which can see miles away. Dahua or Hikvision are where you will find them. if you buy cheap then you wont get the clarity etc of one of the higher grade versions at distance.

Also how far is the item to be viewed? You can get 128x zoom but unless its on a good firm fixing anything too far away just picks up any wobble

128x would be good . the fixing would be in brick so fairly firm

@teddman I’d go with something like a positioning camera. Hikvision do a cheap(ish) one but Axis, Bosch or Vivotek are the better end of the market.
