I think its finally time to start moving from ST to HE. Im closing in on 330 devices and even with 2 hubs it seems like too much for ST to handle. The last 24 hours things have stopped reporting to ST for no reason that i can tell, even local automations are failing, i think its just too much for ST to handle (i have about 295 devices on a v2 hub, though a lot of them are virtual). So im going to start moving some devices over to either the 2nd ST hub (only has 27 devices) or HE. I guess what im looking for is what you have done when moving to a different hub. With zigbee devices, if i delete from the app does that actually unpair them? So then i just put the device and the other hub in pairing mode and it should connect? I know zwave is a little more work, i have to exclude the device first, then include it with the other hub. any tips or tricks? anything to avoid, or that you wish you did differently that would have made moving to a different hub a better experience?

If a Zigbee device is "healthy" (online) when un-paired from ST, it should reset itself and be ready to pair to a new hub. Otherwise, the process for resetting a Zigbee device yourself to do the same is usually pretty simple. Z-Wave tends to be a bit more work, as you know, but again they're usually fine if you politely exclude them first. I moved from ST to HE a couple years ago and have heard many stories from people who have done the same. There's no right, wrong, or easy way to do it. :) The only thing to keep in mind is that as you build one mesh, you're destroying the other. You may also wish to consider if/how you want to move automations: with the device (in which case you may want to move one room at a time, for example, so you can get everything set up again) or keeping the automation on ST while moving the device or vice versa (HubConnect was not available when I started but would be an option for this now).

@gavra9 its not so bad. I have a good mesh so batteries last quite a long time for me.
