Today I have a more complicated Hue Sensor question. Can one sensor control two sets of lights at different times of the day? In my bathroom I have my primary Hue Bulbs (2) in the overhead lamp. I want to add a Hue color strip below the mirror to light up my sink area at night when I walk in. Can a single sensor turn on my primary bulbs between 6am-8pm and then turn on just my color strip between 8pm-6am? So, one sensor controlling two sets of lights in the same room at different hours of the day.
Today I have a more complicated Hue Sensor question.

Sure can. But how to would depend on your hub.

I do this very thing with my bathroom lighting using webcore.

@dandiprat and Lisa: I have the Hue Hub and I also have the Samsung hub. I would prefer to use the Hue since it is closer. What is webcore? I know nothing about it. I am looking for simplicity in setting this up and hopefully webcore may be the answer.

Its a smartapp designed to let you actually code you’re own automations and have greater control how they work.

Webcore is a rules engine that is installed and works with ST but you can control hue lights and scenes through it.

Here is a snippet of my bathroom lighting control.

@ingrid51 Is it simple to understand and set up? As a novice, would I be able to figure out how to set up two lights on one sensor with different time settings? Appreciate your help

@ingrid51 Yikes! That's coding. There is no easier process?

@tantalum it’s not coding. It’s fill in the blanks and webcore writes the code for you. There are lots of videos out there that will help you learn.

@ingrid51 Oh, okay. That sounds excellent. Going to try Alexa and HomeKit automation first. If those don't work out then WebCore will be my third. Thank you so much for your help, Lisa. Very much appreciated.

You can do it with smart lighting, too. I'm a huge webcore fan but I have similar automations to this running in smart lighting.

If you have Apple Homekit, you could set up 2 separate automations there

@monecious I do have Homekit. That sounds much easier. Will do it that way. THANK YOU

Cough. cough very simple and inexpensive routine with Alexa.

So it can be set up in Alexa as two separate routines? You were very vague.

I find Alexa routines way too limited and unreliable When they don’t work, there’s no way to trace the problem.

I do exactly this with Control4. Very simple, super reliable.

Unfortunately I am not in the eco-system (which is an excellent one) so I am limited to three choices right now: HomeKit, Alexa or WebCor

Piece of cake with smarrthings. I have a few hue motion sensors and its really easy to create automations based on motion them restrict them based on time.

So, @imperturbation91375 I can do this within the Smartthings app as well? Well that is an additional option. Thanks

@tantalum yea. I use time as restrictions in a bunch of smart lighting automatons. It works well.
