Is anyone happy with their cctv system? I've had amcrest and NightOwl and the software always seems to be crap. I already have cameras installed, I just need a new DVR with decent software.
Is anyone happy with their cctv system?

28 POE cameras running on a dedicated Blue Iris machine. Absolutely no complaints.

I build cctv control room and remote alarm handling software as a day job - so I'm all good, no issues here

I'll second blue iris. I've installed in 4 different configurations, even virtualized with hyper-v, with good success.

I use a Gen4 Technologies NVR with PoE and I'm very happy with it.

I installed a ZMODO system at my parents, it’s ok but when I go to do my own I’ll be running Blue Iris but it’s way more expensive and just not worth it for them.

Are your camera’s manageable? Can you change the IP address? If so I would go with a Synology server. The DVR app is outstanding. The only cost is the server and a camera licenses. Plus you get all the other luxuries of a Synology server.
