Two questions.  Can I link my smart things hub to alexa and google at the same time? Two questions. Can I link my smart things hub to alexa and google at the same time? And is it possible for me to link the smart things arrival sensor to either google or alexa? I haven’t been able to figure out how to link it to alexa and we recently added some google nest minis so figured that might be a route.

It probably has something to do with making a virtual switch in smart things

Yes and Yes. You can link both Google and Alexa to SmartThings at the same time. You don't need Alexa to see the device to control it. SmartThings does the controling. There is a Smart App in the SmartThings Market Place that deals with speakers. You can use that to announce arrivals and departures of the sensor on Alexa.
