I get that I could purchase any fire alarm I have two of these and purchased them for the connectivity. Just sucks Will. I. Am had to go and ruin another good company.

Try the ZCOMBO already linked or use any fire alarm you like an audio monitor which listens for the standard alarm tones and tells ST. I can't think of the name off the top of my head, Ecolink? Someone here will remember.

AC powered kidde has a relay as a separate part, which you can wire into some door contact with an input and monitor it
