Any suggestions for waterproof open/closed door sensors? I have a gate close to my front door and would be happy to have a sensor on for peace of mind - my smartthings box would only be a few metres away so I’d image it would reach no problem. Any suggestions for anything waterproof that would be suitable for outdoors, and available in U. K?

@edelsten don’t really see that being a reliable long term solution to be fair.

@mitsukomitt before I added L360 I used it for coming home automations. Have removed it and use L360 exclusively now.

You can custom one out of plexiglass.

I can think of two possible options. 1. A sensor with input terminals for an external reed switch so the sensor can remain in a weathertight box. 2. Sensative sensor

Make a vacuum seal bag for the sensor. Works great until you have to replace the battery.

I have used a double zip lock bag for a few years now after 3 years and a couple battery changes I just finally had a sensor die. I also have used PVC pipe to put my side gate sensor in. Glue the top only and out a small hole in the bottom to let any moisture out.

Use a door wave door sensor and a water proof box like the photo attached, Ive done this for my stone mail box and it works perfectly:
