Trying to add an ecolink z wave open close sensor to smartthings and it says I need a hub? What did I do wrong? Is smartthings not a z wave hub?

I have 8 of them, they work with ST. Make sure you are pairing it correctly.

Also used the manual add by brand lookup

Add device in st. Turn on network inclusion on ecolink(light blinking), then either scan or manually add by brand lookup. Scan fails to find anything. Lookup says I need a hub

@ghiselin I would check the IDE first. Look at the logs. Check other Zwave devices. Try rebuilding your Zwave network. Try exclusion

Try zwave exclusion and then attempt to pair.
