Question

Hi, I have just added a Meross garage door closer to my garage door opener and it works well, I now want to create something in the SmartThings app (new version) that checks the garage door at 10pm and if it is open closes it. I have tried an automation to run at 10pm if the garage door is open, but the unit won’t show to let me set it to close. Any ideas?

Omit the door open from if. 1) known issue usong the same device as a condition and action in the same automation and 2) it doesnt matter if the door is open. If you try to close it and its already closed the system will just skip over it. Its not like its going to close it again?

You could probably just set an automation to have it close at 10pm every day. If it's open, it will close. If it's already closed, nothing happens. Less is more.

I have myQ, and use the myQ app to set it to automatically close at night, and use webcore to close it automatically 15 minutes after opening. @anatolia7046 is right, in that if it is closed and receives the instruction to close an already closed door, then nothing will happen.
