It's new router time, old faithful just died on me. Are there any decent wifi routers worth looking at, is mesh the way of the future is it worth considering a router with IFTTT compatibility or is it just a gimmick? Anyone got some products to rave about? Doesn't have to cover a massive area, actually currently run it in one corner of the house and a repeater in the opposite corner and coverage is fine. But hey let's do it right while we are upgrading right?

I finally did that this year. Performance is excellent. Setup was a pain, but if you're messing with smart home you'd be fine.

Matt: I just purchased AmpliFi which is Ubiquiti’s consumer grade product. Much easier of the setup and good enough for home use. I’m running 3 of their standalone HD units with 2 of them set to Ethernet backhaul mode. It’s managed wifi so devices will automatically flip over to the strongest AP as folks travel throughout the house all on a single SSID

Agree with Ubiquiti, finally got all mine switched out this year. Though don't bother with the USG.

I went with the Samsung SmartThings wi-fi mesh since I also needed a new router after lightning damage. Works OK, but I still hate that the admin tool, Plume, needs internet connectivity. Makes it hard to troubleshoot internet connectivity issues!
