Has anyone hardwired a Sylvania smart+ led strip to a switch? Looking to install the LED strip under my new kitchen cabinets and would like a physical switch to turn them on and off and not see the huge plug. Has anyone done this with a smart WRGB led strip? I'm thinking of ripping apart the plug and modifying it to fit within the switch box. Switch does not need to be smart. Thanks!

You wouldn't want to do that because when the switch is off, you can't connect to the device. You'd be better off using a button or remote of some kind.

@hague the sylviana smart+ strips are also repeaters. You risk having other devices not work by cutting off the power.

@hague I like the button idea. Thanks. That would add the functionality I'm looking for. Then I'll have to find a creative way to hide the huge power plug

Sometimes cabinets have dead space in corners and such and it makes a great hiding spot

Wouldn’t that be dumbing down smart LEDs? Smart devices should always have power

@lixivium3 yeah I agree but wife isn't tech savvy and wants a simple switch of some sort

@gemma62632 Get a Smartthings button and create on/off automation for the lights. Use toggle
