Has anyone had trouble pairing one of these ThirdReality Smart switches? I bought 2 of them. The first one connected quick and i had it working with ST in no time. the second one ive been fighting with on and off for a couple of hours. It wouldt pair, so i took the batteries out, restarted pairing mode on the hub and switch several times, power cycled everything, even tried to pair it in the new app (where it lists that as a supported device), but nothing works. I even tried it with the switch less than 2 feet from the hub. has anyone been able to overcome this, or did i get a dud and need to send it back for a replacement?

I have several, albeit they are Gen 1, and have never had any problems with them.

@deceit66750 I must have just gotten a bad one. I'll swap it and try again

@imperturbation91375 probably, I mean I have 7-10. No neutral lol. I paired them once and have never had any issues after.

@deceit66750 I got the fireplace one installed, so the important one is good. This is for the lights over the driveway to save me from automating a 3 way switch. We will never mess with the switch so this will be a quick and easy way to automate it.

Mike, do you recommend these?

@pahari91277 not sure yet haha. The first one paired almost immediately. The install is really really easy, and it seems to work really well once its installed. The motor is a little louder than I would like but its really not a big deal. I sent the second one back, it would never pair. Replacement will be here Friday, hopefully it works as well as the first one. If it does, then yeah I'd say these are worth buying, especially if you dont want to replace switches or controlling something other than standard 110v.

I have multiple, never a problem (2nd gen only, never tried the originals). Sorry. No help to the OP issue, haven't had any problems. Just FYI for anyone else looking at these: Good connectivity, pairs right up and battery life has been way better than expected. They're not silent, you hear the motor and then a plastic on plastic slap as the switch hits the far plate. A few seconds with a Dremel got rid of that last noise, but you still hear the motor. I don't use these around where the family spends time, but they're good in the shop, garage, shed, laundry room and spaces like that. Living Room? No way.

@sixpack the one I have installed is in the living room for our fireplace. But we are used to the sound of a kwikset 910 deadbolt so this is really quiet by comparison haha. Got my replacement today that I'll install, that's just going on the lights on the outside of the garage which is going to put it out of earshot anyway.

@imperturbation91375 I think they're great on secondary switches, like your fireplace use case - just not the primary switches that people flip constantly as they come in and out of rooms. Good product overall, could be great if it was quieter.

@sixpack yea I have a couple dozen in wall switches to install but this is great for stuff like the fireplace that I didnt want to mess with the low voltage wiring and risk messing up the fireplace. It's also worth a few extra bucks with it being so damn easy to set up and install.

@imperturbation91375 Easy it is, plus it works in old buildings lacking neutral wires. Now if they could make it look a little better - it's not ugly per say but it doesn't really blend either. Fine for my uses though.
