Lutron Caseta

@sonja all the dimmer Lutron caseta switches don't require a neutral wire. They can be found online or in stores. Look for deals because they are pricey. They sell bundles of hub with dimmers too. For the reglar on/off caseta switches there is a specific model that doesn't require neutral wire and it is only sold online.

@bermejo Ok thanks .

@sonja the on/off model switch is Lutron PD-5S-DV-WH. I have a few of those installed since it's rooms with fans and lights on 1 switch. Work with no issues.

Fibaro! Depending on your bulb you might need a "fibaro dimmer bypass" fitting at the ceiling rose.

Best or Cheapest? I got a cheapish, no neutral, switch using ZigBee from Zemismart and it works fine. .

Inovelli red series dimmer (you can make the ramp rate pretty much instant if you really want the on/off style functionality)

@bitolj ok thank you , I am just looking for stuff that plays well with ST at this point !
by (1.1k points)
At this point, the switch you are looking for, is a part of the Works with Smart Things program so I don't know how much better it can work with ST. ha ha Nathan

@bitolj I've never heard of inovelli before but after seeing your comment here I looked into it and it looks very impressive. I updated all my 30+ switches to zwave a couple of years ago and haven't had to keep current with new models. I'm very impressed by the features and will definitely be acquiring a couple to try out.

Inovelli switches are great. I’ve got 4 throughout my house.

@brach64 Careful, you might end up replacing them all!

Yeah, looking at the features. I just might.

I've been using both Inovelli and Lutron for over 6 months. The Lutron switches are slightly better as a pure lighting control device. Response is nearly instant when you press the switch. 3-way setup or adding additional switch is very easy with pico remotes. However, Inovelli switches are way more versatile when it comes to home automation. If you want to use your switch to control other devices or scenes or color lights then Inovelli is the superior option.

Also, the Lutron dimmers don't need a bypass unless you go really low power. I have one hooked up to an LED that draws roughly 9W and it does not need a bypass.

What i do not like about the Lutron is you have to buy their Hub to make them work @ $70 so now your running 2 Hubs !
