Friends: I'm looking for a SmartThings compatible gate lock. Not a door door lock, but something I can use outdoors on a gate. Any ideas?

Nothing as of this time. I have been looking for one as well. There's a new smart lock looks very interesting and will be releasing soon. It will only replace the cylinder of the lock, thus it will live inside your existing lock. It's not ST compatible at this moment. When I talked to them via chats, they said they will support other api in the future but didn't specify which. It is backed by Walmart and had some $70M funding already.

this won't lock a gate lock unless it's setup for a standard deadbolt. smart gate lock would be a custom job. something like an electric strike control with a zwave relay.

Thanks @
mcclurg,
but as @
bicentenary
notes, it's a gate, not a door. However, if I can't find the "right" product, I could retro-fit my gate.

Looking for a self contained battery powered lock? If you can provide an external power source then there are electronic ones that can be controlled by ST

Thank you. Self-contained would be nice, but I can get AC power to the location if necessary. Do you have a product in mind?

There are lots of electric mechanisms for gates. strikes, latches, etc It depends on the gate what would make sense to use.

Then you use one or combinations of a physical key, a pinpad, a card reader, a fob, your smartphone, etc

Keypad without load control. I’m looking for a keypad switch I can install to replace my current switch that will provide constant power to my bulbs and act as a trigger in Smartthings.
