Question

I have an idea to power my camera. Do you see it? Three of four cameras are near a powered light. I can hook up a USB outlet/Electrical outlet here. What do you think?

I tried this. The plug in socket adapter was too short in the metal where the bulb goes and I couldn’t plug in the arlo brick. Look for one that is extra long.

Assuming you have consistent power there, you can tap an outlet off of that box and utilize that where you need to place plugs. Be sure though that you utilize sealtight and weatherproof enclosures for your install. Because it looks to be over 6ft, you will not need to add them to GFCI, since they are out of reach. Do not use socket adapters, as you have motion lights and you'll have power interrupted everytime the lights shut off, or if they're never triggered to come on. Given that they're motion sensor and they have and internal photocell you'd never have power during the day coming off of the fixture directly

You can find an electric (110V) replacement for the batteries on Amazon. Take the batteries out, replace them with electric version, plug it in and no more batteries. This is what I have. What you need may depend on your model # of Arlo cameras you have. And since you never have to change batteries, you can get a hard mount kit and do away with the magnetic mount, permanently mounted.

Hubby want to do this as our batteries I have charge 2 in the past three days. getting a little over it. Arranging Sparkie today, for the two camera new an outside light. Well run a solar on the ones not near a power source.

It has to be "all weather proof" or else moist can short circut it and cause a fire.

If u relocate the camera under the eve that should alleviate your “weather proof” issues.

Solar panel for Arlo or replace both those things with Arlos soon to release floodlight on their website.

I use Arlo solar panels. They work great. Gotta have some sun. But best solution is hard wire if you can snake the wires.

If I can bother to snake the wires, I would like to buy 4K DVR which is much cheaper, rather than Arlo Pro.
