I did a thing this past weekend. I bought a WD ReadyView camera system. I bout the 4MP/4TB system for $349 from Microcenter. So far, I really like it. No account creation it to work with the mobile app, pretty good quality, comes with 4 cameras, expandable to 8, POE system. The app got me up and running really fast, and easy. I thought it was a pretty basic system at that point. I connected the NVR to a monitor and mouse, and this thing is a pretty nice system. Pretty in depth settings, many of which I don’t understand yet. This UI is also available through a local web browser, while on the same local network, which actually seems to work better than the NVR’s own GUI. There are motion detection, trip line , and various other alerts that you can configure, much more than I expected, actually. So, that’s my “review” so far. Now for a question, I cannot find anything more than the basic manual for it. I’m guessing that a lot of the controls and setting are pretty standard for camera system, so where can I find more info on that stuff?

You spent $349 - what else did you expect? For this money it should also cook you some food and clean dishes :) Enjoy it!

It’s normally $549, it was on sale. I’m not complaining at all. I would just like to have more documentation on the more advanced features and settings. The only real complaint I have so far is the Android app crashes from time to time.

I would limit your expectations. It's a low end consumer device. You wouldn't see advanced options as much as a hik system or LTS. It's made to be user friendly.

@sidney my expectations aren't all that high, although it is exceeding them so far. It has more settings and capabilities than I expected, I just don't know how what all of them do.
