I am finally ready to start installing all of the Zswitches I recently purchased. None of my existing ones use a neutral wire, though I know they exist in the box… They are just twisted together and capped. Do I need to choose a specific neutral wire when hooking it up to the new switch, or will any of them work the same?

You want to just include your wire from the switch in the bundle of white wires in the box. You won’t separate out the white wires.

Huh? The current three way switches use three wires (no neutral) but the switches need a neutral

Right so in the box of your new switches should have a small white wire. You will use that to connect your switch to the bundle in the back of the box.

Got it now. Thanks

Because you are adding a wire and depending on how many you have bundled you may need larger wire nuts. Good idea to pick up a multi pack before starting so you don’t have to run out with wires exposed.

Do not separate the neutrals, add another white wire to the neutral bundle and run it to the switch. Also you may need a bigger wire nut. Make sure to turn the breaker off when doing the wiring.
