Hey all, I just purchased a Dome Water Sensor to monitor my sump pump (as we just had a flood in our finished basement in January due to the sump pump failing). The device is detected in SmartThings. If water touches the sensor, the alarm on the device alarms. But SmartThings still reports “dry”. The device is within about 10 feet from the closest repeater, so signal doesn’t appear to be the issue. I decided to reset the device by pulling and replacing the battery, but no success. I also tried contacting Dome last week, but I still haven’t received a response. Do you all have any thoughts of things to try? Thank you in advance for any help!

Also go into the IDE and lets see how strong the signal is . see attached - this shows the zigbee hops, the 255 is errorless connection (less than that, more errors) the next one shows signal strength - 30-60 great,

@hinder Thank you for the response! The dome sensor runs off of z-wave, so I think that’s why I’m not seeing the same things as you. Not sure if any of this means anything to you, but here you go!

Sorry @dentilabial30 thought it was zigbee. Prob for the best Z-wave more reliable. lets assume that connection is fine. Did you look to see if that Dome device requires a special device handler? What specifically happens when it gets wet? Are you using the new version or classic version of the app?

@hinder if I’m reading your link to their page correctly, I don’t believe there is anything special required for the device to work properly. When the device gets wet, it alarms locally on the device (plays an audible sound), but nothing is reported to SmartThings. It still reports as “dry” in SmartThings. And I’m using the new app. just converted over a month ago.

Do you still have the classic app running on a device? Maybe try that? I'm reaching of course . I'd say to contact Dome but you have tried that. Maybe post in the Smartthings users forum too? Some times the techier peeps are in there vs. here.

@hinder I don’t have it installed still, but I can try it tomorrow to see if there is any difference. I’m also going to try to contact Dome again tomorrow too. Thank you for being willing to try! I appreciate it!

I had to exclude from ST. Then pull/reinstall battery. Add back into ST.
