You have to start subscription. I got free 1 year for google home and IFTTT last month. And after that somehow the smartthing myq app showed the garage door.

@ric66000 The MyQ Lite option posted by @darius above does not require a subscription.

@ric66000 In December they had IFTTT subscription free for a short time. Not sure if the deal is still around or not. I use MyQ Lite, works flawlessly. Subscribed IFTTT just in case I ever need.

The MYQ Lite option that @darius shared is the best.

Sorry to troll here, but curious how you all are defeating the very loud and obtrusive warning sound emitted by these myQ devices when activated remotely. I’ve seen some methods on YouTube, but what are you all doing? And yes, I know the safety purpose of the tone.

@monoxide at the end of the day it is a safety feature but you can try and dampen it down with blue tack by the beeper inside of you open it up.

@arbalest Yep, that’s what I’m asking about.

The custom device handler myq lite is the best. Just get a garage door sensor

I just got everything working correctly. I'm going to use the SmartThings multi-sensor as a tilt sensor to let me know if the garage is actually open or closed. I would stick it on the garage right now but it's only like 10 degrees outside. I'll wait until it gets above freezing to attach it to the garage door so the 3M adhesive tape will stick a little bit better than it would at this moment. Thanks guys for all your help!
