I’m trying to get my wife to show up in the members section for the smart things home monitor in the new app. I currently get alerts when I leave saying everyone has left the house even if my wife is still home. She has been added as a member of the house and I can see her device for setting up other automations but it won’t show up in the mode reminder section. It correctly shows when she is present or away. Any ideas? I have removed her and re-added her a couple of times and insured that location services are always on and notifications are on for her device as well as mine.

What are you using for her proximity sensor?

@sixpack her iPhone same as mine.

@poppycock We had spotty success with the App's built in proximity - switched to Life360 and it's been reliable for years. The Webcore proximity is also pretty reliable.

@sixpack did you turn your phone location services off in the smartthings app then? So as to not get duplicates?

@poppycock no, you leave it on and use a combined virtual presence sensor so you have 2 working together

@poppycock No, my wife and daughter never had a need for the ST app so we just uninstalled it from their devices. It was only there for proximity, didn't work well so deleted the app for them. We already used Life360 so tried that and it has been very reliable for years.

Have you tried deleting STHM and re-adding it.

@crabstick4604 I have tried resetting it but not necessarily completely deleting it

@crabstick4604 I just completely deleted and reinstalled and still only shows my device

Weird. But she does show up in the Automation Creator when you choose “member location” as an IF?

@crabstick4604 she does.

Make sure your wife leaves the “always use my location “ on for the app. Mine turns it off all the time bc of that stupid iPhone pop up. Drives me bonkers

@conradconrade10 I checked again and it is in always.

Both using the same version of the app? I. e. new vs classic
by (1k points)
@noisette yes. Both new. I have classic on mine to help set up some smart apps etc. And I can also verify her phone as sensor is working

I went back to the old app mainly because of the limitations in the smart home monitor. Only phones can be used to automate and not my other presence sensors for some reason. Maybe it is a related problem but not sure why really. Perhaps this is one for support.

I use the IOS WebCoRE app which will show as a device in the app, automations and WebCoRE.

Phones (as presence sensors) do not appear as devices in the new app (unless setup in the old app first)

@sixpack Mart yes but you are still supposed to be able to use them to automate the smart home monitor
