Question

I have a Schlage (zwave) kick that’s been perfectly operational for >2 yrs, now being wonky. IDE shows it’s Online but neitger Classic or New apps will operate it. Alexa can sometimes tell me a (locked or unlocked) status, and sometimes she can’t reach it. The lock is not operating in webCoRE pistons as it should. Really weird: Manually, the keypad is not working. pressing the <Schlage> button results in a blinking red X. My question, is there something that I can try before I try removing and reinstalling the lock? It will be a big job to reset all of my pistons and user codes if I remove the lock.  Thx!

First step is fresh batteries. They don't seem to handle low battery conditions well.

@algonquin6112 My Schlage will show at 60-70% and has weird behavior. Or is slow to react. I change the batteries and it immediately comes back. Other thing I've done is have it do a zwave network repair especially is a repeater of some form is not close.

Batteries very much matter on this lock. Was about to suggest belrand new name brand hi energy cells. Looks like you figured it out

Sounds like either the batteries are low or the vacation mode is enabled
