SmartThings gets updates whenever devices report an update. Usually within milliseconds of an 'event' such as motion. Can you expand on what you are seeing?

Shelly devices are WiFi, so ST only gets the status as often as the device handler is set to poll. You may be able to edit it in the device handler. This is why it’s better to use zigbee or zwave devices - they will “push” their status to ST rather than relying on polling.

depends on the SmartThings device handler for Shelly. Might have to edit the code, did you paste it into the SmartThings IDE?

Shelly is integrated to SmartThings via a cloud-to-cloud integration that they own. It definitely is possible to update almost instantaneously, but you’ll have to ask Shelly why it’s taking to long since they own the integration.

+1 on Kris's advice above. Going forward with Smartthings, I'd look for Zigbee and/or Z-Wave devices that connect directly to ST, this'll almost always give you the best results if ST is your chosen platform.

I know that from Home Assistant (HA) you can integrate it with SmartThings (ST) and control all your ST devices from there but is there a way to do the opposite.meaning that through some integration have ST control all HA capable only devices and include them on ST automations, scenes and routines?

So if my SmartThings buttons are local and the controlled devices are local and the SmartThings hub is set to allow local control, why don't the buttons work when the Samsung servers are down?
