Question

Ok So I wired in a Sonoff Zigbee Basic switch into a light. When I try and add it to SmartThings it fails every time at 80%. I hate SmartThings as the last thing it is is smart ! I hold the pairing button when told and the red Light flashes but not pairing! Can anyone help please? Thanks @williemaewillies in the UK

I use a couple of those and I've found them to be really easy to set up. Not really sure why your struggling though. I just hold the button till the light flashes then do a search in the app and it connects every time.

I am a bit confused by you 80% reference. What is showing you that figure?

@laundryman SmartThings after you tell it what room and press the pairing button. A little dial spins around showing a % as it pretends to be setting your device up. Most annoying as if it doesn’t work straight away then it never works! Hate all smart apps and too many different products and standards. Industry is not mature yet.

I've never paired a device into a room at the same time, just added a device then moved it into a room. Not sure why that would make any difference but something to try at least. I've not had any trouble pairing sonoff devices.

Make sure you don’t have any custom DTH installed that are picking it up.

Are you choosing the manufacturer etc during the pairing process? The zigbee one is listed unlike the others. Not sure what the issue is, mine paired straight away.

I don’t use that app but had a look, just the plus button, by brand, sonoff, switches, sonoff

Mine paired first time and very easy. Just went to scan and there it was.
