Hello Everyone, I just found a google home mini that I forgot I had. Am I correct that I can use it to act as a speaker for my smartthings? If I remember correctly, I read that it could be used to speak out things such as “close all doors” I have smartthings set up in my rental home and have it set to shut off the A/C if doors are left open for 5 minutes and would like it to say something like “shut doors to resume air conditioning”. If so, how do I go about doing that?

You seem to be asking if it works as a speaker, 'saying commands'. Google Home mini works well for me but as a microphone listening for commands. There is (or was) a catch in 'signing' it in with ST. As you scroll thru Apps. you get something like "Samsung Smart Home". You think that's it, but it isn't. You have to scroll down further to find 'smartthings'. Once linked it finds all your devices & for me does the simple tasks like Hey Google Turn on this or that. Sorry if this is not what you were looking for.

@meleager Thank you for letting me know, I’m not looking for it to be used to control anything. I do have an amazon alexa echo dot. Can I set it to just be a speaker to announce to guests to shut the doors to resume air conditioning? I don’t want them to be able to control anything.

Google Assistant can control and query Smartthings devices, very easy setup. You can make all or some of your ST devices visible to GA.

He wasn't asking about controlling ST - he was asking about making ST use GH as a speaker.

You're right, my bad. I misread it.
