Anyone know of any devices and SmartApps for a gun safe? Would at least like to be notified of any tampering. Saw a few nice potential solutions on Indiegogo, but I’ve been burned on those things before. Thx

You could use a simple multisensor (acceleration sensor) on the door. It would detect any movement even fiddling

Or buy a Vaultek safe.

Simple sensor for safe 2GIG makes a nice trigger lock that detects movement of the gun as well as locks the trigger.

I've got a $15 Visonic MCT340 door sensor on the inside of mine. Any time the door opens I get a notification on my phone and all of the Google Homes in the house announce "The Gun Safe Was Opened"

@raddi how do you get a google home to notify you of an event? I can't figure it out. Thank you.

Perhaps a SmartThings multipurpose sensor used with Doorknocker app for vibration on safe door places near keypad or dial.

I used a multi sensor, Webcore, and echo speaks. The general idea is I wanted to broadcast to the house that a safe was opened to ensure my wife and I would know to check our phones which would receive the exact safe that was opened. Since we have young kids we didn't want to take any chances. I also have a virtual switch I can use to disable the alarm should I want to clean the weapons or go shooting.

Xiaomi have a nice vibration sensor which would work well, device handlers are available.
