Looking for suggestions from like minded folks. I'd like to install a video doorbell. Currently we have a few ST sensors and I'm working on converting over a bunch of Ubiquiti mFi sensors using Konnected boards. I'm planning on using ActionTiles for a quick single pane of glass type dashboard in our kitchen. From my understanding AT doesn't have direct Video Door bell support, but some have gotten some work arounds with other apps on the same tablet. What does everyone use or recommend? So far I've narrowed it down to Skybell and Ring. Skybell mostly because I don't have recurring fees for video history. I'm open to suggestions though!

I'm running actiontiles on an old android phone at my desk. Using tasker it leads the ring app to the video feed when there is motion or the doorbell. Then 2 minutes later it goes back to actiontiles

Nice, I'll look into that. I wonder if I could accomplish the same with Skybell's app.

@morita probably. It took me about an hour of playing with it to get it all setup but now I can easily monitor the front door while working.

Nice. I recently started playing with Tasker. I've got a Wyzecam still sitting in a box. I wonder if I can get Tasker to do the same with it. I'll probably have to integrate with TinyCam

@ieper you mind sharing your setup of this?

@cimon I moved some tablets around and never set it back up so I would have to play with it again. I do remember it took me quite a bit of tinkering to get all the syntax right

Do you have Google Home? If so swerve Ring, the support is non-existant (as I've just found out, thankfully the Ring was a gift as it didn't work until I fixed it)

We have a few Echo's (non-video) in the house. No Google Home.

Ok, so with Ring being owned by Amazon then support is much better. Aside from the Google thing, I like the Ring. Decent quality and I'm currently dealing with support (I have a weird IR issue) and they're really responsive.

Thanks. I honestly forgot Amazon owned Ring now.

I dont believe you have an option that works well currently with either camera. I have a ring as well and although I had a work around going for a while the ring app updated and it doesnt work any longer. I do have a Lorex system which enables me to use the built in capability to use the Media option in ActionTiles to show all the cameras.

@morita if you want I can video one of my tablets showing the result of how this works. Also, if you have the Ring skill for alexa installed you can tell Alexa ON one of the tablets to SHOW YOU THE xxxx Door - and it will bring up live video of the Ring. I do NOT pay the Ring monthly fees I have another camera out in front that grabs video 24 x 7 if I needed it.

Thanks Tom! We have other cameras that video on motion, but I'm thinking I want a camera that is positioned lower to help assist in gathering different angles of would be miscreants.
