So I just started my switch to ST from Wink. I downloaded the ST classic app to install my ceiling fan (Home Decorators Series) the classic app found it but just says please wait. Will it change or should I delete and try again?

Exclude it completely. Then, try adding it.

Did you add the device handler for it?

Just wonder why you have to use the classic app. the new app is faster. the only reason I use the classic app is to get to the smartapps faster (than going to the IDE). I'm a new ST user this week too :)

@immanent916 classic doesnt replace having to go to the IDE. When you have to go there to install custom device handlers or smartapps or troubleshoot with the live logs. It's the only place those things can be done.

For me the new app is still too slow and some devices don't work at all in it. So 99% of the time I use the classic app.

@sammy are you on iOS or Android? The iOS update that came out a couple days ago seems to load much faster for me.

Android. Even if it loads as fast the lack of total device support is an issue. Like my hot tub power monitoring, it half works but I no longer get the cost which is the reason for putting one on it in the first place. Same with my camper energy monitor. Useless in the new app without my cost. And I have many devices that are the same either partly work or not at all.

@immanent916 I couldn't figure out how to add a generic zigbee device. On the classic app it pulled it right in.

Just remember that each weapon and each bot will be nerfed, don't invest too much in one stuff. Good start is griffin. If you don't invest money you will never be competitive. Play for pleasure and not to win
