What are some reliable bulbs that adjust color temperature? Not necessarily color? I want something that can be done in ST. Hue is great but not looking to add another hub to the system. For example, adjust lights to warmer temp later in the day as well as manual temperature control.
What are some reliable bulbs that adjust color temperature?

The Sylvania/Osram option works fine and is reasonably priced, though they’ve changed the name so many times I’m not completely sure what it is right now. Smart+ ZigBee, I think?

I like Osram / Sylvania if you need devices to act as repeaters and Sengled if you prefer your bulbs to NOT be repeaters. I personally prefer to build my own repeater network and prefer the color reproduction on the Sengleds. So when I need bulbs I use them.

The top of the line bulbs are LIFX and Hue. They are pricey. Sengled perform better in response time and color saturation than Sylvania Osrum. Yet Sengled doesn’t repeat while Sylvania does. I prefer Sengled for a lower cost option. I do like my Hue a lot

Is there any reason to NOT have them be repeaters? Electricity use is very minimal (10-15 cents a month per bulb). Repeaters seem like a good idea to improve the network performance.

EcoSmart from home depot. $9 a bulb and come with a remote you can pair to smartthings too!

@optative7488 I stocked up on these!

@dye yeah I believe those are the same bulb. Little cheaper for 2 bulbs as well. Though I do like having the remotes, even though they aren't the greatest, so I buy the single pack with a remote

@optative7488 I got the single packs with remote when they were less than $5!

@dye ahh lucky. I heard they used to be cheap! Must have picked up popularity, or maybe were just heavily discounted at the time. I'll be buying a bunch (even though I don't need them) if they ever go on sale

I'll pick at least one up, if for no other reason than the remote and a decent bulb for somewhere. How bright are the bulbs at the various white points? I find some are dim at the warmer temperature (yellow/warm) and bright at daylight temp (cool/blue). That is to be expected to some degree, but with some bulbs is much worse than others depending on how many emitters are used for each temperature.

@hand52 I believe it's fairly similar. I have a program wrote in webcore that will change the color temperature over the evening at the bulbs on our bedside lamps. It will slowly make them reduce color temperature as the time gets later (to reduce blue light). A couple times I have seen the temperature jump (usually a 500k change) but they do not seem to get any more dim or brighter than they were. Hell I don't have much experience with other smart bulbs, but these are great bang for your buck and are really reliable. I have 2 outside that hold up to the cold temps really well.

The IKEA bulbs work well and are really cost effective.
