Just wondering if anyone has been to Sri Lanka before and what the value for money is like out there? We’ve just booked our honeymoon which is 4 nights in Sri Lanka and 6 nights in Maldives so any advice would be much appreciated

We have been to sri lanka several times. The people are lovely. Prices outside the hotel were very cheap when we were there. Where abouts are you giibg

We stayed on the coast near kalatara and negomba. Each time we did boat trips we enjoyed them so much.

There are lots of trips. Therebis an elephant orphanage. Every time there was a wedding at one of the hotels an elephant would come to the hotel.

aw that’s cute! We love animals so I’d love to go on some sort of safari trip if there possible to do. What’s the pricing like for different trips?

The roads were not very good when we were there and travel was very very slow. We paid the tuk tuk £5 in 2010 he took us to the turtle place and then a different beach for our boys to play in the sea for a few hours!

Prices are higher for tourists than Sri Lankans. Try to visit Pinawala elephant sanctury if you can. Especially watch the walking to the river. Amazing experience.

I got married in Sri Lanka. It was very cheap, however the Maldives is very expensive if you are not AI.

So the kids and me are going to italy in August, apparently the coronavirus is out there and some towns in veneto (where we're going) have been quarantined, I know it's ages away but I'll be gutted if we can't go, anyone else going somewhere where the virus is and wondering what'll happen?
