Hi all.  Just joined as looking for some advice on a wedding abroad.Hi all. Just joined as looking for some advice on a wedding abroad. I'm looking to get married at a resort, somewhere family friendly. I will be taking a 13 year old and 3 year old. Some family will be invited with children too. I ideally wanted it to be more of a holiday with getting married in the middle. No wedding breakfast, just married, maybe have a family meal then jump back in the pool  has anyone done something similar? Thank you

Have a look at the Travel Wedding abroad page . I would recommend Majorca, short flight from the UK have a look at the Palma Nova area. If you want it to be a fun family holiday then there is plenty of hotels in the resort that will accommodate everyone’s needs, have a look at the Ca Saboners hotel close to the beach, bars and restaurants also the shops. The hotel has been refurbished and will hold up to 4 ppl or you can have a family room. You can have a private ceremony on the beach or a nice church on the resort plenty to choose from. xx

@eben thank you, I'm not looking at a church (I'm divorced and not religious) and not bothered about a beach, would poss like a view of it but not on the beach as such xx

Turkey. Our friends got married at Lykia Liberty at Olu Deniz. It's a huge resort and very family friendly with a water park on site and direct access to the beach. Beautiful setting too.

My Daughter got married in Cyprus and it was fab It was held in a cobbled Courtyard with a balcony we all sat outside, they were taken in a golf buggy after the ceremony to plant an Olive Tree which their name was put on to go bk and visit in yrs to come We stayed at the Olympic Lagoon in Paphos A/I which was fab for all ages and you can get married there if you want to too with views over the sea xx

Cyprus is fab for this. We stayed at the Louis Ledra beach and saw some fab weddings there

Definitely recommend Cyprus, I got married in Nissi Bay in Sept 2009, my brother got married in Paphos in June 2013 and my sister got married in Ayia Napa/Nissi Bay area in August last year. All 3 weddings were amazing! None of us did a wedding breakfast. I had the wedding at dinner time, followed by a yacht cruise reception and an evening meal at a beach restaurant, my brother had the wedding followed by an open top party bus then a BBQ and disco at the hotel and my sister had her wedding, a boat trip then a sit down meal and disco at the hotel xx The hotels were Atlantica Aeneas, Louis Phaethon and Dome Beach. Highly recommend all of them

I hired a villa in Cyprus for a week, fitted 17 people and had the ceremony by the swimming pool. The day was super chilled, I went with a company called Cyprus dream weddings. Literally all I had to do was get up, let someone do my hair, get dressed, drink champagne and walk to my groom. We had a DJ at the villa, and hot food delivered for a sit down meal - all cleaned away by the company too, Sunset photos on the beach. Honestly couldn’t of asked for a more relaxing, intimate and special moment

I got married in Paphos Cyprus we hired 2 villas for us and our friends and family and we had a brilliant holiday out there and got married on the wednesday at a secluded location (erdo 3 shipwreck) then had a bbq on the terrace back at the villa. I planned it all myself from the UK really easily. It was beautiful xx

@almetaalmighty284 my sister got married on cameo island in Zante x it was amazing x we had few days before. the wedding. then few days after . the venue was stunning and the reception:evening was our own private taverna . very mama Mia  her wedding planners were great xx happy to inbox u some pics if interested x we also renewed our wedding vows after 25 years . at the balcony hotel tsilivi Zante
