Has anyone booked a flight while in lockdown with easyJet? I want to book a flight for Feb 2021 but not sure if insurance will give refunds if booked while the virus is happening and flights still being cancelled at that time? Hope this makes sense ‍♀️
Has anyone booked a flight while in lockdown with easyJet?

I’ve booked with EasyJet for January, February and March. They will refund or you can book new flights x

@bagby it’s the Disneyland Hotel and premium full board and I will tell my eldest on Christmas morning, my youngest will be too young to know what’s going on  we will be going with my sister, her partner and his two girls too. Xx

@bagby I’m actually feeling a bit emotional thinking about stepping into the hotel for the first time  it’s going to be special, I can’t wait xx

I've been trying to get through to customer services about changing my flight or getting a refund and can't get through at all. Tbh I'm not prepared to be on hold for hours especially when it's not a freephone number! Don't know what else to do.

I booked a flights for next February. I don't think travel insurance will cover it as they changed the policy. But if the airline cancel it, you can get a refund or a voucher

My annual insurance told me that if I booked anything after a certain date I wouldn't be covered if cancelled due to covid 19 so I'd imagine not.

All of the insurance policies now have a no covid cover written into their t&c, they did it mid March , I would go ahead and book flights, esp if they’re a good price, things should hopefully be back to normal later on this year, even if it did get cancelled, you’d get a refund or voucher anyways

Isn’t insurance just to cover medical issues, Abta for flights & atol for package. Or have I got that wrong?
by (330 points)
@unreadable22117 it can also cover legal costs, missed departure, disruption, luggage, valuables and a few other things related to your trip that could go wrong.

My partner works in aerospace and all i can say is refrain from booking anything with easyjet atm. They are in trouble with Airbus and could become bankrupt soon

@disinfection ooo really ? I’ve just booked a Disneyland package but luckily no flights yet! Thank you

@catholicism10 no worries. hold off booking flights for a while or even consider driving to disney. We are annual pass holders and drive their every time. You can book eurotunnel tickets with tesco clubcard points too so we never actually pay for our travel apart from fuel and travel insurance
by (700 points)
@disinfection I wouldn’t be comfortable driving  I only passed my test this February. Still my go by tunnel, just the train which I know goes straight to Disney  x

@catholicism10 if you are going for the first time definitely take the direct train if thats the option you choose. Indirect is a little confusing for first timers x

I thought Easyjet got a government loan about a month ago.

@haga55 nope they are offering £5m to anyone in the aerospace industry if they can get them out of a contract they have with airbus for aircrafts they purchased before the lockdown and can’t fly now due to covid

EasyJet cancelled my holiday on the 14th March. I’m still waiting on a refund  I wouldn’t book anything just yet
