Looking to book first holiday I’ve been on since a child, and first holiday at all for my partner. Where do we start? Looking for around 2nd-3rd week of Sept (once school holidays are finished). Wanting somewhere near a beach, warmish around 25 degrees, but lots of history, exploring and fun things to do (neither of us are sit on the beach for a week people! ). We both are foodies so ideally somewhere with some awesome food places (looking at going half board or possibly sc) What do we need to look out for when booking? Thank you!

The Greek Islands are beautiful, especially the Ionian Islands, full of history, friendly locals, lots of beautiful beaches and plenty to do! They're also quite reasonable in terms of pricing! Would definitely recommend sc or bnb xx

If you like good good, Greece! Naxos is amazing, the only Greek island with underground fresh water reserves so they can grow their own crops. Their potatoes and chips are so yummy and the meat and seafood to die for.

Paphos Cyprus will be warm, there are lovely beaches just down the road from the main harbour, food in abundance with traditional Greek meze style restaurants, for sight seeing you have the old harbour, tomb of the kings, a boat trip can be organised direct from the harbour to visit Aphrodite’s rock, a trip to famagusta, I’m a travel agent I could go on but I won’t. Just think this would make an ideal destination for what you have described.

Savannah GA & Hilton Head area are perfect temperatures that time of the year. We go around that time every few years. We are not beach people either, other than for a few hours each day.

Portugal is our favourite place and has lots of history if you go to the right area, Costa Del Sol is beautiful in September. Somewhere like Nerja has lots to do that isn’t all drinking, the Caves of Nerja are amazing.

You could do a lot worse than Malaga city. Warm, galleries, amazing culture and antiquities and great range of food. Cycle ride to beaches and quaint resorts.
