I have only just begun this journey a week ago today. By tracking everything it seems as though my coffee creamer, and olive oil when cooking up my veggies and such are my biggest points in my meals. I am dairy free, are there any alternatives that you guys like that are less points than the silk almond milk vanilla creamer? Same question for the olive oil. what do you usually cook your veggies in?

Spray olive oil. It’s zero points
by (1.9k points)
@brief I usually use spray but I have conveniently been out since I started last Friday, ha or I would have scanned that! I will be getting more of that tomorrow! Thank you!
by (2.8k points)
@expiry tbh I don’t know if it’s the right thing to do but if I have to use olive oil I just try to use it lightly and don’t count it. But I’m a rebel. Lol
by (1.9k points)
@brief I like your style . I just have noticed they are my biggest points. I want to lose my baby belly but if I have to have my creamer bc no other options I will but wanted to see what other dairy free people used.
by (2.8k points)
@expiry what about unsweetened almond milk and Splenda? I have done that when I went keto (Terrible diet) and I liked it.
by (1.9k points)
@brief I like the thickness that the creamer gives over milk. I think that’s part of my problem the texture of it.
by (2.8k points)
@expiry hmm. I don’t know then lol
by (2.8k points)
@expiry what about dry non dairy fat free creamer?
by (1.9k points)
@brief I will have to search for some.

I use a vanilla Premier protein shake in my coffee.

@pazit4 where do you get that at?

I use spray oil often as well. Other times I use olive oil anyways and track the points - because I believe fats are also healthy. I just accommodate and I have fewer points elsewhere

Air fryer cooking requires little or no oil. I gave up milk and sugar in coffee years ago after reading that your taste buds adjust after only 10 or so days. Turned out that was true. Never regretted that decision.
by (110 points)
Me too. I like coffee my coffee black now. It didn’t take long to get used to it.
by (1.9k points)
@marvismarwin7609 I just really enjoy the thickness of coffee and the flavor, I don’t really want to give that up. It’s like my only consistent thing I look forward to if I have been up all night with my 4 and 2 year old. Lol
by (2.9k points)
@marvismarwin7609 I use coffee matte sugar free Italian sweet cream in my coffee. I was hooked on flavored creamer but so many points. Note I get flavored coffee 0pts and add the sugar free creamer for very few pts. Just what works for me and I’m pretty sure coffee maté is non dairy

I live in Australia. We don’t have the fancy creamers available to you Therefore we don’t have the habit of using them. It was full fat cows milk I gave up. Could not drink it milky or sweet now. What are creamers made off? Are their ingredients natural?
by (1.2k points)
@marvismarwin7609 not really. I usually opt for instant organic. but I am French and organic products are very popular. Processed food not so popular in France.

Thanks for posting the ingredients list.

Use the spray when roasting veggies

I use pam as much as I can but honestly if it's not a significant amount, I dont even track the olive oil. Lost 70lbs in 8 months so it doesn't impact my journey. But if that doesn't work the same for you(as everyone is different) then again, pam is great. I dont drink coffee so I dont have an input on the creamer unfortunately

My new air fryer is awesome no oils at all. Nice and moist meats all the time. ❤️

It’s surprising to hear that creamer and oil are your high ticket point items. Have you considered drinking fewer cups of coffee, and smaller?
by (1.9k points)
@counseloratlaw I’m a huge coffee creamer lover . With measuring I am doing 3 Tbsp or if I do a double cup it’s 6 Tbsp. . that still tastes a little bitter to me.
by (17k points)
@expiry Yes, I also love my creamer. I drink a smaller cup of coffee, so 1 level tablespoon tastes just right. If you don’t care for sugar/fat free, you will have to do one of 2 things. Drink smaller and fewer cups of coffee, or take the points hit and cut corners elsewhere.
by (1.9k points)
@counseloratlaw I def am just taking the hit haha it’s worth it. I just didn’t know if there were other dairy free options that taste great.
by (17k points)
@expiry There don’t seem to be! My favorite is International Delight Sweet Cream!
by (17k points)
What’s yours?
by (1.9k points)
@counseloratlaw is that dairy free?
by (1.9k points)
@counseloratlaw silk vanilla almond milk creamer

@magritte Caudell Martin I don’t think I have a Kroger near me. Is that dairy free?

Chicken or veggie broth to cook veggies. I don’t do it but it works!

I usually roast my veggies and just use a small spritz of olive oil. It’s surprising how little you need. The veggies release so much liquid when cooking, you really don’t need much oil.

Many times water and bullion for veggies. I haven’t used oil in years. I also use this to brown meat

Steam the veggies, no oil needed. I was a flavored creamer girl and had to start drinking black coffee for WW. You will adjust to black coffee. I actually enjoy it now. Took a couple of days to get used to it.
by (1.9k points)
@royalty I don’t think I will ever get there lol! It is definitely a love of mine for a good coffee. . I pick on my Nana and Papa all the time and tell them I could never have coffee black and I call it their hot bean water.

Silk soy unsweetened soy milk
by (1.9k points)
@fab I should also say I am soy limited. I got the wrong amino acids I thought I was grabbing coconut amino acids but it was 6:30am when I was shopping ‍♀️. Soy messes with my stomach.
by (3k points)
@expiry what about a coffee mate or creamora
by (1.9k points)
@fab coffee mate I looked up an. It has casein in it.
by (3k points)
I have issues with dairy and gluten it’s very difficult because gluten free items are high in sugar
by (1.9k points)
@fab yeah this is where I’m hitting my problem bc of the alternatives. I have been just going with out for most of the other stuff like cheese and yogurt. I mean if I want something I take the points hit but it just didn’t seem as easy as others I have talked to who don’t have those restrictions. ❤️

@expiry I totally understand

Have you tried the Califia brand creamers or the silk creamers. They are only 1 point.
by (1.9k points)
@royaltyberly Lesperance Dishroom I use the silk but I use like 6tbsp. . And that is cutting it down to where I usuals am with creamer lol

I use Leaner Creamer original 0 points, and spray Oliver Oil.
by (1.1k points)
@adhamh40495 But Leaner Creamer has soy so beware if you can’t do soy!
by (2.2k points)
@toomey how do you know if you can or cannot do soy?

My two cents, you need a little fat for your hair, skin, organs etc and olive oil is a good fat. Measure out maybe a tsp and see if that’s enough. The most I use is a tablespoon and that is usually for more than one serving. As far as creamer I use sugar free liquid coffee mate but I saw someone say it has cassein. I m lactose intolerant so it doesn’t bother me.

I use pam or similar on almost everything I cook. I also sometimes drizzle about 1/2 tsp olive oil on my soups etc. As long as I'm not eating deep fried things like I used to - these small amounts of oil seem fine. I don't think being 100% fat free is even good for people. It's a fact our brains need it.
