Here’s a couple of tips. Keep adding flour until dough is stiff. Mix in a little bread flour for texture once in a while. Stick your thumb into a circle of dough to create the bagel shape. Chill dough before baking to let flavor set in. Bake on parchment paper. Any brand will do. Freeze post baking. Thaw as needed, toast and spray with spray butter or use whipped cream cheese. Use the same techniques when making pizza from dough. Doing the majority of these things will end up with a no fail approach that creates a tasty bagel/or pizza.

by (170 points)

I use the dough to make breakfast calzone with scrambled egg and Canadian bacon in it. I also have rolled it out and put the everything g bagel seasoning and some low-fat cheese and turkey pepperoni for a personal pizza! Bake it first then I put back in and melt cheese. So many options!

I have made them numerous times & I really like them. They’re definitely not like the bagels I grew up with or the current bakery style but they’re great & especially because they’re only 3 WW points.

My trick is to add a little sugar or Splenda to take out the tang of the Yogurt. I use Fage 0 % yogurt which is less tangy to begin with. I use a Cup of Yogurt to 1 and 1/4 Cup Self Rising Flour for 4 bagels, 3 pts each. (The extra flour is to make the dough less sticky but would alter the WW point value. Can add another 1/2 C of flour and bagels become 4 WW pts. ) To make your own Self Rising Flour, use All Purpose Flour, add 1/2 tsp. Salt and 1 and 1/2 tsps. Baking Powder. Stir together well. I egg wash my bagels and sprinkle Everything But The Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joe’s or Amazon. I e used just sesame seeds too. Preheat oven and Bake 400 F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Can make flavored bagels too by adding cinnamon and raisins, etc. The WW Point value changes. Also, I love to make this dough into thin pizza. Spread out all the dough to flatten with hands and fingers to a large round, about 12”-14”.

@malines my trick is I use a gallon zipper bag to mix my ingredients and throw in fridge for 1/2 hour or so before I shape my bagels and let them get back to room temperature before I bake them. Also I bake mine longer since using toaster oven combo.
