Anyone know of any low point cereal options? I scanned several boxes today, and even the ones that are marketed to be healthy are high! Also, what milk do y’all use? Never been a cereal person, but for the last week I’ve been craving it

Rice krispies or corn flakes seem to get you the most bang for your buck, I mean points. I always use almond milk. 1 pt for 1 cup.

I get Cherrios (the original-none of the flavored); Special K(again the original); mini bite-size Shredded Wheat(obviously not the frosted) or Rice Krispies. you seem to get a reasonable size serving for low points; then I use 1% Lactaid low fat milk (I’m lactose intolerant); top off with a 0 point banana ; 1 1/2 cup of Rice Krispies+1/2 cup milk+banana=6 point breakfast. I don’t eat cereal everyday but when I’m craving it this is a decent # of point go-to; even for lunch or dinner!

I’ve been in your shoes when I just want cereal. Measure the serving size and you’ll be even more disgusted with how many points it is! LOL but I do use unsweetened vanilla almond milk so that way I don’t add the points of milk

Just use a small coffee mug to eat your cereal in and eat something else with it like fruit or eggs. Most cereal has 3-6 points per cup so it’s really about portion size and variety.

I buy a cereal called 'Puffins' (peanut butter flavor) 3/4 cup = 3 pts. I mix with about 3/4 cup 0% plain Fage Greek yogurt. Drizzle with a little SF maple syrup + coffee (of course). Very filling. I find this cereal at Trader Joe's.

Processed cereal (dried) have a high glycemic index. The lowest is shredded wheat or cooked cereals. That's what the points are for.
