How do you handle trigger foods when it’s your kids snacks? I don’t feel she should sacrifice them because I can’t leave them alone.

This may help. my ex husband ate my son’s last Twinkie from a birthday party that was saved for him for the next day and to this day my son still brings it up. ( he is 41 now) Yikes!

@reedbuck :Hahaha! My husband ate a chocolate chip cookie I brought all the way from Wegman' s in Maryland. And he's never touched my stuff. Plus he ate the entire cookie! I still remind him of it. This was before I really got serious about WW.

@voronezh see, it proves a treat specified for someone cannot be eaten by anyone else! Lol

@reedbuck :Hahaha! We still laugh about it.  His excuse is that I left it there so long he thought I'd forgotten about it. ☺.

I write in black marker on every box in the house how many points per serving. When im craving it the first thing i see is the points. If i cant afford it or if its not worth it, i suddenly don't want it.

If they are not good for you they probably aren’t good for your kids . But I get it .

With that said maybe pre bag them for the kids so there are no extras for you

It is hard, but ya just have to be strong and not eat them. Your kids should no be penalized and not be allowed their treats.

Get snacks that they enjoy but you do not like that much. For instance, my kids loved oreos and chips ahoy and I did not enjoy those that much, so it was easy to avoid, so I bought those for them. Also, my counselor said.. NEVER leave the bag of cookies or chips on the table or kitchen counter. put them away in the pantry where they are not as tempting! And yes, look in the mirror and hang a mirror on the front of the refrigerator and on pantry doors.. I knew one lady who had a weakness for bread, so she kept it in the trunk of her car. She had to walk outside and open the trunk in order to get bread! Another lady put her bikini swimsuit around her ice cream in the freezer. I just don't buy ice cream any more!

@foetid696 :Ice cream is something that I don't care for anymore. I try to limit the amount I buy for my husband, because he loves it, but I have him eating Greek yogurt now.

I dont find it too difficult but I make sure I have plenty to snack on. Ultimately I reframe my thinking. Those snacks only have the power over me I give them. I wouldn't start taking away food my kids like but I do always offer something I have for them to try

If its not good for you, its not good for your kids. No matter that they love salty sugary snacks, its not good for them either.

Buy prepackaged amounts that are smaller. If you buy a small bag of chips and eat them, your points are predetermined. You’re also less likely to overeat.
