Purple plan leans more on the zero point foods then use your points to build on them. Like for breakfast, I have eggs and potatoes (0) then use points for cheese (3) and coffee creamer (1). The main part of all my meals is a zero point food

Is it catered to people who have more weight to lose ? I put quite an amount to lose when I did the questions. I just started Monday and I'm still trying to get into the swing of things.

@word98 the points people get per day vary based on height/weight/age. I have about 80-90 pounds to lose and I get 21 points per day on purple. Did you take the assessment and it suggested purple or did you just choose purple? Honestly, if you’re just starting out I would suggest the green plan. There’s more work to that because of less zero point foods so more tracking but you’ll also get more points per day.

I took the assessment and it gave me purple .

@word98 I think purple is good for people who know what portion control is. And that 0 points doesn't mean eat all you want. There are so many 0 point foods that you don't need a lot of other points in your diet. Just watch portions in grains. I started on blue last summer. There was no purple then. I've lost 65 lbs. I have stuck with blue

@keheley And green teaches you portion control. Which many people just starting WW don't know enough about. Surprising what you learn when you start measuring and weighing.
by (930 points)
@pol yes, which is why I think people starting out should automatically be put on green.

I'm on purple. Thankspical day for me is a breakfast burrito with eggs, turkey sausage crumbles, and reduced fat cheese in a ole wellness wrap - 4 points. Chicken and brown rice with random veggie for lunch - 0 points. Chicken fajitas - 4-5 points each or chicken stir fry - 3 points. Fruit for snacks and usually chocolate hummus for after dinner. The key I have found is mixing up your spices so you don't get bored. This leaves me with a to. Of weeklies that I can use on a nice dinner out or girls night with drinks. I haven't been doing this long (since December 30th because I just couldn't wait) don't be hard on yourself. The first few weeks were rough but I found an apple that I loooove (cosmic crisp) and I kept one on me all the time so if I got hungry I could always eat that.

I am. I chose purple because a the flexible no point foods. I eat alot of fruits and veggies, greek yogurt, eggs and chicken breast. The rice allows more flexibility with family meals. I find I can get obsessive with counting so having more free choices works well.
by (440 points)
How many points are you allowed per day ?
by (4.1k points)
@word98 16. They go fast . especially if I have a few glasses of wine . but the no point foods gives me options.

How much weight have you lost so far ? I just started on Monday so I'm still trying to get into the swing of things .
by (4.1k points)
I lost 25 but added 5 with a month off over Christmas including 2 weeks at an all inclusive . My weight loss is super slow but steady and I am focusing more on making better choices to change lifestyle.

I was hungry the first 2 weeks now I do not even notice. Most days I do oatmeal or eggs with a fruit for breakfast Lunch is WW chili for zero points and it is super yummy and filling. Dinner is what zip ate before WW just smaller portions and switch out some ingredients. Last night we had 2 point dough pizza. Snack is 1 point string cheese and a fruit and veggie. I have lost 20 pounds in 30 day!

Jump on your zero point food list. If that doesn’t help switch to blue

I pretty much eat zero point purple foods. Can’t eat much off the purple plan—16 points do not go far

I did purple for a month and list nothing. Lots of zero foods but indulged in too much pasta and rice. I never felt deprived but I am changing to blue. Liked it cuz it seemed easy but did nothing.

Love purple. Just base your meals on the zero point foods. Then you can add low point extras to complete your meal.

Love purple plan. I’m eating light cottage cheese, fruit, veggie wraps/enchiladas (don’t eat meat), Boca burgers, try sprinkling quinoa or brown rice on your salads. Light string cheese only 1 point add with some nuts and piece fruit. Oatmeal w/fruit, tuna/salmon/cod/shrimp. You can do it!

I’m on purple - I eat lots of fruit and vegetables and eggs and chicken breasts - save my points for things like Doritos or bread or sweet potatoes
by (3.8k points)
I thought you could have potatoes on purple. I just checked and they are on the zero point list.

I get 19 and I usually use 8-11 points a day! Yes people might say I should use them all but I am in the healthy eating zone each day since I’ve started so I’m good! I’ve really been “forced”(minus the negative connotation) to eat more zero point foods which are all healthy, clean foods. I eat tons of fish and chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt, beans, veggies and fruit. I choose to spend my points on some low point snacks but enjoy zero point snacks as well. I use my points on avocado, and other healthy foods. Purple has taught me to choose a clean lifestyle while still having room for indulgences.

I eat eggs, use Aunt Millies Light Bread, Fat-Free Greek Yogurt with berries, lots of chicken recipes with Veggies, Boars Head Oven-roasted Turkey for lunch on the bread, have made some great 1 and 2 point recipes using whole wheat pasta and Wild Rice with Chicken, made a regular chili with lean ground turkey instead of ground beef, 1 point per bowl, made white chicken chili 1 point per bowl. Chicken Taco Soup 1 point per bowl, I eat Fruit for snacks, made deviled eggs with greek yogurt, 0 points. You can be creative.
