Nothing happens to canned chick peas. So don’t worry about them spoiling! Make hummus with one can, open up two cans, drain and rinse, sauté 1-2 onions in olive oil, add a small can of tomato sauce, put the chick peas in, stir, add a bit of salt, pepper and some garlic powder. Stir, cover and let simmer about 20 minutes. Makes delicious side dish. Make 3 bean salad. One can chick peas, one can white beans and one can dk. red kidney beans, drained and rinsed. Put all in large bowl, slice one onion over them, add some salt, oregano, extra virgin olive oil and a bit of red wine vinegar. Stir well and you have a hearty bean salad!
