It's discouraging when you do great all day. Stay within your points, even when eating out and then get a low blood sugar (I am type 1 diabetic) and have no choice but to eat something. No blue dot for the day, are now over points. Any suggestions for correcting blood sugars and not ruining your points for the day? Thank you!

I don’t have any suggestions/ but just wanted to say I’m also type 1 and it’s so frustrating! I try sticking with glucose tabs- but of course it’s sugar and that’s what we need when low. Sometimes if I’m not too low, I’ll eat an apple or banana and that helps.

I sometimes grab a banana too. Definitely frustrating!

Honestly, I wouldn't count the points if it's because of blood sugar. It is known, that diabetics may lose weight a little slower, so don't be hard on yourself. It's not like you have a choice.

Orange juice is what we use for my mom. Works great.

Orange juice does bring up blood sugar but is loaded with points

@zyrian5195 yes it is. That is what you need. Your health is more important then a few points. It doesn't happen daily. Take the points and be safe.

I think the pharmacy sells glucose tablets to keep handy but I don’t know how May points they are.

I do have those in case of an emergency. I'll have to scan the points and see what they are

Grapes are high in sugar and zero points on the plan.

This is why you have weeklies! Never feel bad about using them!

Which plan are you on? Maybe try purple where you have plenty of zero point options to turn to in the event you need to dump a lot of points into a low sugar incident. This also allows for substantial amounts of protein to help keep your sugars stabilized. You could also try some of the higher sugar fruits like mango, bananas, grapes, pears, cherries and watermelon. Try not to get discouraged. Tending to your medical needs is a must. Make healthful decisions throughout the day and if you need orange juice or whatever to raise your blood sugar then so be it. The wonderful thing about WW is that it is designed to work for each of our unique lives. How each one of us does WW looks very different, but what stays the same is that each of us are introducing/maintaining a healthy lifestyle in our day-to-day routine. You design your days so they work for you.

I'm a diabetic as well. I have had low blood sugar levels too. I try to have the fruits, mainly apples, around for when I have a low blood sugar level incident. I also eat these thru out the day as a preventive

Have you talked to your doctor? Are your insulin needs changing as you lose weight? Good luck!

This is why i think you should get a blue dot ig you still have weeklies. It affects some of mentally not getting a blue dot using our weeklies as directed.

Screw the dots! Your health is 1st. Remember it's all cumulative. I was denied a dot for being too far under and too far over in the same week! Just be consistent as much as you can and f those dots!

I keep juice boxes in my cabinet. Personally I don't count the juice as points because it's a medical emergency. Don't beat yourself up about it. It's more important to treat the low blood sugar. Also talk to your Dr. Mine lowered my nighttime insulin. Good luck

I'm not a diabetic but I'm a nurse. Isn't carb/protein a good choice to level blood glucose? Both are free for blue. Like fruit and chicken breast? Just a thought.

That would be a good question to talk to your coach about either at a meeting or online.
