I'm a nurse. every shift is a workout. I love walking and biking, but it's been proven that if I have to stick with a strict workout regimen, I dont stick to the program. I think my losses are a little slower, ( I've lost 21 pounds in three months) but I'm OK with that.

@pudendum Heyboer I am a nurse as well. It's messed up actually I get to count walking every time I work and I work 12 hour shifts. Also, as messed up as this sounds, I get resistance training in repositioning my patients in their beds lol. I hear ya in the every shift is a workout l

@dockyard. I laugh out loud when I hear people do a workout after work. It's all I can do to get outta the car and in the house after a marathon shift!

@pudendum Heyboer me as well. My hubby and son talk my ears off when I get home when all I want to do is eat, crawl into bed and have them leave me alone. I often fall asleep while my husband is talking to me. I feel like I live with a couple of Sheldons if they don't talk and say what they have to say their heads will explode.

I teach group exercise classes 6 x’s a week. First, always give yourself a rest day. 2nd, women should weight train 2-3 times a week especially if you are in your 30’s because if you are inactive you start losing 3-5% of your muscle each decade. 3rd, cardio 2-3x’s a week. Mix things up every 4-6 weeks. Cardio is great for burning calories and it strengthens your heart. Weight lifting burns less BUT not in the long run. Muscle burns more calories than fat, increasing your metabolism. Soooo, if you weight train and build/retain muscle you will be burning more calories in the long run  Good luck!

I aim for at least 4-5 times a week . I don't think anyone can exercise too much .

Right now my goal 30 min 5 days a week. When I build up some endurance I'll be able to do the longer versions of the workouts I like. Plus when the time changes I can go for longer walks and not be out in the dark! When I was in better shape I exercised 4. 5-5 hours a week.

I'm 74--I work out 5 days a week--2 with a trainer that involves strength training and cardio. 1 day on my own--cardio and weights and 2 days in a class with 10 other people--cardio, strength and balance. Love every minute of it

That advice about not working out every day is mostly for people who do heavy body building. It’s to give your muscles time to rebuild. For most of us, that’s not a big worry

I work out almost everyday. Life occasionally gets in the way. But it is rare that I dont get at least 20 minutes in. You can exercise everyday, especially if you enjoy it. But you should mix it up. Dont do one type of exercise mix it up cardio, strength, flexibility. Cover all your bases. Also choose exercises you enjoy and switch it up so you don't get bored. If you enjoy exercising every then go ahead enjoy yourself.

I am 68. I walk 4-7 miles outdoors 365 days a year, rain or shine. I do 6 days a week of one hour yoga classes out of my home. I do 30 minutes of strength training everyday. It is important to me to do this . for me. What works for you is what you should be doing. There are no exercise police in WW.

You do what’s best for you. Not what others tell you. I work out 5-6 days a week for 45-65 minutes doing the elliptical. I’d like to go for 7 days this week just for fun.

As I just commented, being a nurse every shift is a workout for me. I also walk a lot, and after I am healed up from my surgery I hope to get back to Zumba which I have been missing now for a few years because of my knees. I was an instructor at one time. I can't wait to get back. I used to cross country ski 6 km twice a week too.
