I am a petite older woman who finds 23 daily points doesn’t work. (That is the starting number of points). I need to lose 32/35 lbs and do fine one day but then feel intense hunger the next. Im not gaining but certainly am not losing either. I am in awe of peoples losses but who has started their journey with this low of points and have succeeded? I need inspiration.

I have 23 points per day, too. Are you eating any zero point foods and are you eating your weekly points, too? I eat 5 weeklies every day along with my 23 and have zero point foods.
by (800 points)
@marmawke i guess i am not understanding the weekly points.
by (26.7k points)
@bulley - weekly points are there for you to use however you want. All, some or none. If you have a special event, save them for that day. If you find you’re hungry every day, eat some weeklies with your dailies and add some zero point foods. You can stay in the blue dot zone ( recommended) by eating up to 5 of them on top of your daily points.

@marmawke thank you.

I had 23 points and I was never hungry. I stopped losing after a while and it was because I was eating too many calories even though i was 3-4 points under a day. also what are you eating every day?

Breakfast was sara lee delightful 45 multigrain with a egg. Lunch was baby carrots and another hard boiled egg. Dinner was a 6oz hamburger no bun, mustard and grilled onion, green beans with chicken bullion , dill pickle spears, several hot tea plain in the morning. Water so far is 48 oz. today has been good; yesterday I was off the rails snacking when I shouldn’t have.
by (6.6k points)
@bulley sorry love that is just not enough food.
by (6.6k points)
@bulley you need to eat more calories than that
by (6.6k points)
@bulley I am a calorie counter now because with WW alone I was over eating and that wouldn’t be enough at all to be healthy
by (800 points)
@priory yesterday I was over. I am not consistent.
by (6.6k points)
What did you eat yesterday?
by (800 points)
@priory same breakfast but had cranberry trail mix, pretzels and a twinkie at lunch. Dinner grilled chicken, corn and greenbeans. Snacking at my daughters was my downfall.
by (6.6k points)
Sounds like without that Twinkie that this day is much healthier for you than today.
by (6.6k points)
@bulley but a Twinkie is only 135 calories so it’s not gonna make or break you time
by (800 points)
Telling my brain I need to Avoid things i could eat before. Its a mindset I’m struggling with.
by (6.6k points)
@bulley that’s why I count calories and don’t stress about WW. I can eat whatever I want just make sure it’s within my calories! Soo much less stress and worry and less of a diet!

Try making a snack box for those times that you know are going to be a problem. Use your zero and low point foods to pad out your eating. Homemade vegetable soup for example with beans and/or lentils zero points. Very filling. It comes down to planning ahead and preparing for the next couple of days at a time.

I couldn’t do the 23 points plan. I love the green plan. I have 30 points and I feel like I can eat a lot more of what I want.

I started at 23. I get 28 weeklies. I don't even use my 23 everyday and carry 2 to 4 over most days

Protein and veggies! For breakfast, I have eggs with sautéed veggies in a scramble, with salsa on top if I want. You can add a Dave’s Killer Thin Sliced bread for 2 points. I add extra veggies to every recipe and eat a lot of lean proteins (chicken, turkey, 99% lean ground turkey). Also have lots of fruit (all types) and carrot sticks for snacks.

Maybe switch to purple?
by (800 points)
@dockyard I did. I’m on week 3 of this plateau - it’s just really difficult for me to lose weight & I’m not even menopausal at the age of almost 56!
by (7.9k points)
@occupation ok. I am just starting menopause and it has been difficult for me. I was on blue until after Christmas. Body was getting used to the routine so I decided to shake things up and switch. I use my weeklies. Not all of the, just a couple here and there so if I go over I just count the overage. It's not a bad thing to eat all your points if you do. Keep trying the purple. I am sure you'll get out of the funk. It took some adjusting losing the 8 points I had in the blue going from 27 to 19 but I got the hang of it and it's been working. Our leader said to try any of the new plans you switch to for at least two weeks before switching back. I find in the purple I have to plan more and thing more. Good luck.

@dockyard thank you - I’ll hang in there a couple more weeks

Go to purple! Unlimited natural carbs like potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole grain pasta 300 zero points foods

I was on blue with 23 points. I think the low points is because of my age. I switched to purple and only got 16. However, I can eat all my favorites like oatmeal, potato, sweet potato, whole grain pasta, and fat free cottage cheese, for zero points on the purple. Definitely was a better choice for me and I feel better on it too. One of my downfalls is I like wine with dinner sometimes and 2 glasses will eat up half me daily points. They say that’s what the weeklies are for, but they dwindle down fast. I try to snack on just fruits, veggies, fat free cottage cheese, non fat Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia vanilla drops. Just need to find your niche, something that you can live with. I have also found that changing how I cook and drinking a lot of water with my meal helps. You got this

I’m also an older and petite (5’1”) and lose weight slowly. Drinking water and exercising seems to help.

I lost 40 pounds on the 23 point plan. It is a matter of getting used to eat and knowing which foods to choose. Be patient, you will find the right foods to satisfy you and help you loose weight. You do have to be persistent though and not go over the 23 points. I went through a spell where I felt I could treat myself to indulgences because I had lost so much but it the long run that left me at a standstill. So I have to track everything and not go over if I want to continue to loose.

I am 68+ and only get 16 points. I did not start with 16 points because I ‘started WW’ 45 years ago . then restarted in 2015. WW did not have these programs then either. Now they have these three new programs, and “yes” I am losing on 16 points. It is a mindset first . next, change plans. It can be done.

Try green

I get 23 points a day. I find it do-able but I do use all of my weekly points each week. usually for restaurant meals and social occasions where I drink alcohol and have more indulgent food. That’s usually on the weekends. Firing the week, I eat the food I make/prep for the most part. I rely on the zero point foods as the foundation and to add volume, but info also eat carbs and healthy fats. What are you eating? It would help to see your daily meals to offer better advice. But can you increase your portions without increasing a lot of points by adding more veggies and/or lean proteins? Also, I try to stick with more “real” foods versus a lot of light and low-fat or fat free stuff. I know some people rely on these items but I find they don’t satisfy me. Artificial sweeteners make me hungry and give me more sweet cravings.

Each plan works. It depends on your nutrition plan. I eat oatmeal and due to blood issues have to eat meat 2-3 times weekly. So green works for me. I combine it with exercise and intermittent fasting I am 71, down 95. 5 over a period of years and off blood pressure meds.

I personally think the Green plan is the most strictest plan. for example eggs on Green plan is 2 pts where as it maybe 1pts or zero.
