I AM STRUGGLING!  My desire to lose weight is great but my follow through is horrible.I AM STRUGGLING! My desire to lose weight is great but my follow through is horrible. I make weekly goals that quickly fades away in a day or two. I started the Saturday before Thanksgiving and I’m only down 10 pounds. My goal is 40 more. The stress and hours of work causes poor food planning and prep on my part. Also, I don’t like eating the same food everyday. Any suggestions?

Prepping is key. Set aside a couple of hours one day and make a batch of different healthy meals and freeze in portions. Chili, soup, baked chicken etc.

I make lots of soups in my crock pot. They are delicious and I never really cooked at all before. I enjoy making them and coming up with different vegs, and seasonings. I keep beans and shredded chicken on hand and whatever I am in the mood for when I have a serving which is usually two cups. I add about 3 tablespoons of olive oil to each pot so that is about all the points in my soups. They are really helping me a lot. This week I made one with chicken broth and red cabbage as the base. I added lots of different veggies and 1 tsp of sugar to perk it up . . yummy.

I understand what you are going through. It helped me to journal what I ate at the time. I started using smaller plates and bowls

It took me a long time and many stops and starts but I gradually started moving forward and losing weight. I am always amazed when I hear people in my meetings who have lost the same amount of weight that I have (45 lbs. ) in six months when it took me three times that long. But, heck, the time passed anyway and now I have lost it. So, slow or not, just keep getting back on and one day you will get there. It's a life change not a race. Best of luck to you.

@cointon10 And trust me, I have had difficult days. Sometimes I give in too and I actually feel better. I get back on plan with no guilt. I have been maintaining since the holidays with tiny ups and downs but I am hanging in and OK with where I am - for now. Still want to lose 15 or so lbs. Ten more to goal and then I no longer have to pay for meetings. That's a great goal for me :-)

@cointon10 Yup. But I'm not in a rush. I'm sown two sizes, look and feel good and have lots of new clothes in my newer size from wonderful consignment shops. I want to get more wear out of them. Then again, there's that issue of not having to pay $$ $ once at goal.

I had to not think of it as such a big deal. I still eat, but make better choices. Its really what you set your mind to.

What have your goals looked like? Behavior goals like - Track everything or Drink water are more realistic than lose x lbs

Again sometimes maintaining is winning. This is a lifestyle as well as a diet. So 10 lbs is great ! Just keep going

I replace one meal with a carton of Cold Premier Protein. If I get hungry, I eat a cup of broth. Cara Cara oranges. I use my air fryer - I make breaded zucchini, salmon patties, chicken wings, green fried tomatoes, chicken thighs, baked potatoes (I put cottage cheese on my potato instead of butter), boneless pork chops, potato skins etc etc.

It is almost all your mind I can tell you. I had to just really get it in my head and after that I have done much better! Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels lol

Your reason? Look better? Get a focus picture. Health? Get your stats you want to improve. Put these things in front of you when your tempted and every morning. Also praying helps

Maybe try try buying a few foods that are basically prepped for you like cut up veggies and individual hummus or peanut butter or Guac cups. The freezer section has a plethora of items. Cheese sticks and apples are tasty. Maybe just focus on prepping one thing for the week like snacks or prep work lunches. Then add on another meal or dessert to prep once you have consistency with your first prep goal.

There is absolutely no need for repetitive eating on this program. Google WW Smart Points Freestyle recipes with ingredients you love. Get a slow cooker, and Instant Pot, or something else that may help you. Keep in mind, too, it could take up to 9 months to lose 40 pounds, and that’s if you lose weight, consistently, each and every week, which is unlikely. It’s not expensive or difficult to throw a few ingredients into the crockpot in the morning, and then you will have dinner ready when you get home.
