Why do I let that number on the scale determine my mood?

The scale has never been my friend, even when I lost huge amounts of weight. It was a big part of my lack of self worth, among others. I go to WW once a week to weigh, every week, I prepare my reaction, I lose, gain, or stay the same. It's actually a very small part of my recovery.

Because we’ve been programmed to always find worth in a number. Sucks!

I think we should blame the advertising industry because we that perfect body and when we don't measure up to it . We all have an emotional reaction. We are disappointed

I have a question for you @extension? Do you measure yourself also? I use to get so upset when I would gain any amount , I was stepping on the scale every time I went to the bathroom. I noticed I was always emotional over it. Someone told me it is just a box with number start measuring yourself.

Once I did that it took time to get over the habit of weighing myself, I will tell you last week I weighed in I gain a lb but my measurement went down I tried on small size pant drop a size I then really noticed the box is just a number. Because we all go up and down so hang in there

Don't worry. I was pissed off with it too the other day then thought about things I ate. So, back on track. No sugar, low carb. No snacking. No alcohol
